Hancock Park

Famed for its beautiful mansions, Hancock Park is a long-established neighborhood of grace and elegance. This neighborhood welcomes with history and convenience with its prime position in a central location. The area was purchased by Major Henry Hancock in the 1860s and an area that was once dirt roads and oils field was transformed into commercial buildings and developments of stately homes.

Real Estate: Classic elegance is the order of the day in Hancock Park. Education: Hancock Park is served by the Los Angeles Unified School District. Local public schools include Third Street Elementary and John Burroughs Middle School. Private schools include Yeshiva Rav Isacsohn/Torath Emeth, Bnos Esther, Marlborough School and Samuel A. Fryer Yavneh Hebrew School.

Transportation: Hancock Park is equidistant to both the 101 and 10 freeways and Wilshire Boulevard is a main thoroughfare. The Metro Purple line runs through the area and there are several bus routes.

Local Attractions: The official residence of the Mayor of Los Angeles is located in Hancock Park. Because of its singularly lovely residences, this neighborhood is also a popular spot for filming and many consuls general live in the area.
