Redondo Beach

Known for its beautiful shoreline, Redondo Beach has been a resort destination for more than a century and is notable for having a pier, harbor, marina, and surfing beach all in one spot. One of a trio of Beach Cities in the South Bay, Redondo is located approximately 20 miles from downtown Los Angeles.

Real Estate:  Redondo Beach has three main neighborhoods: Riviera Village, Waterfront, and North Redondo.  Riviera Village offers boutique shopping, and outdoor dining only a few blocks from the beach and just north of this area are The Avenues, a small neighborhood that includes many of the original beach bungalows in the area which date back to the 1920s.

The Waterfront Area includes the harbor, marina, and pier. The popular Esplanade area offers an ocean view and direct access to the beach. Oceanfront condos and beach homes are very popular for their perfect views and access to the best Redondo has to offer.

North Redondo is an inland area with tree-lined streets and charming neighborhoods. This area offers easy access to the freeway. Redondo Beach homes for sale include Mediterranean homes as well as modern architecturals.

Community Life: Redondo Beach is all about beautiful beach living and with fifteen parks, thirteen parkettes, and the Redondo Beach Pier there is plenty of outdoor space to relax in. The South Bay Galleria is a popular destination for shopping and dining. Surfing and beach volleyball are essential components of the South Bay lifestyle.

Education: Redondo Beach is served by the Redondo Beach Unified School District which consists of eight elementary schools, two middle schools, one high school, one continuation school and one adult school.

Alta Vista School, Birney School, Lincoln School, Tulita School, Adams Middle School, and Redondo Union High School are among the schools in this district. Local private schools include Carden Dominion School, South Bay Faith Academy, and St. Lawrence Martyr Elementary School.

Transportation: Redondo Beach is easily located seven miles from the Los Angeles International Airport. Beach Cities Transit provides local public transit service in the South Bay. Two fixed-routes provide convenient north/south service connecting Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach and El Segundo as well as east/west connectivity to the City of Torrance.

Local Attractions: The Redondo Beach Pier is a center of activity and features concerts during the summer months. Other events include a kite festival, outdoor movie series, chalk art festival, and monthly yoga meet ups.
